Long flight to Munich

Left Chicago at 6:05 p.m.. 8 hours and 45 min. to Munich.
I was greeted with a glass of champagne and a small bowl of warm, mixed nuts once on board the flight.
It’s 7:09 p.m. and we are flying over the south end of Lake Huron. The outside temperature is -70 degrees F. Dinner will be coming out shortly. Looks like it’s going to be Mahi Mahi tonight.
Stu continues to try out his favorite Italian word on people……”prego.” Cracks me up! He used it many times on Heidi and Meredith at lunch and in the DSM airport.  It means “your welcome” or “no problem!”

are bookin’ across the U.S. tonight. At 7:24 p.m. we are flying over Buffalo, New York. 7:40 – Syracuse, New York. 7:48 p.m. flying over the Adirondack Mountains. 7:57 – flying over Vermont. 8:22 – Bangor, Maine (Hello, Stephen King!) Halifax, Nova Scotia – 8:45 p.m.
Well, Hello…… Atlantic Ocean!!! I do enjoy watch the flight tracker on my little TV here!!! It’s 9:15 p.m..

Hey – they are selling Chanel, Dior, Lancome and more through the duty-free store tonight!
As an aside, sometimes a beach scene with palm trees and water pops up on my TV screen – which is a kill- since it’s only 52 degrees in Munich, where we are going.

Decision: more wine to sleep more soundly? Or less wine to lessen the dehydration?

Fortunately for us, the ash cloud in Iceland does not seen to be much of a threat to us right now. (or as Stu lovingly refers to it as “The Ass Cloud.”) 

Does anyone want /need some Remy XO? It’s on sale tonight at the duty free store!

Our stewardess has really been amazing! The air is a bit rough right now and she’s walking around….filling wine glasses. All glasses are on the move right now….and the liquid in every glass is moving, too. She is trying to hit a small target at an arms-length distance. Impressive!
OOPS! Spoke too soon! She just returned to fill my wine glass and we hit some turbulence and the wine went all over the plane window beside me!!! HA!!!
Okay…..bed time!
